His responsibilities include lead electrical design and the supervision of various electrical design teams. His experience includes power and instrumentation design, in-depth power system studies, on-site generation study and design, field investigations, and construction phase field services. He also supervises the development and implementation of electrical design standards and quality control guidelines.

His electrical design experience includes drawing and specification development of power distribution systems, control schematics, wiring diagrams, intercom systems, fire alarm systems, electronic security systems, lightning protection systems, and instrumentation systems. He has experience in the design and implementation of medium and low voltage switchgear, engine-generator synchronizing switchgear, primary and secondary unit substations, medium voltage motor control equipment, medium voltage variable frequency drives, low voltage variable frequency drives, and solid-state motor control equipment.

Mr. Ellermeier has established himself as Black & Veatch's expert in on-site power generation systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. He has provided in-depth studies, reliability assessments, and payback analysis for many different sizes and configurations of installed equipment. He has also provided analysis and coordination of various rate structures available from electric utilities. Before joining Black & Veatch, Mr. Ellermeier worked as a sub-consultant for the firms' Federal Division in the renovation of the Oak Ridge, Tennessee, nuclear production facility. Design experience included electrical and instrumentation design for various chemical processes that ultimately produce nuclear fuel.
