Jim Fitzpatrick

Based in Black & Veatch’s Kansas City, Missouri office, Jim is a Sr. Wastewater Process Specialist in B&V’s Global Water Technology Group. He has 18 years’ experience in municipal and industrial wastewater and water treatment in a variety of technical areas, including recent bench-, pilot-, and full-scale performance studies of high-rate technologies for the treatment of wet-weather flows and phosphorus removal and recovery.


Jim is an active member of B&V’s Wet Weather Solutions Group, a Community of Practice for the firm’s professionals from around the globe that have expertise in the areas of water quality, collection systems, treatment technologies, stormwater, green infrastructure, tunnels, long-term planning and the many other diverse areas that are involved with wet-weather flow management. His current projects include:
  • Enhanced high-rate treatment facilities for the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati
  •   Side-by-side wet-weather treatment demonstration facilities for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewer District
  • A 100-mgd compressible media filtration system for the City of Springfield, Ohio

 Prior to joining B&V, Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Missouri.
