Steve Tarallo

Based in Black & Veatch’s Gaithersburg, MD office, Steve is a Sr. Wastewater Process Specialist in B&V’s Global Water Technology Group and leads the firm’s Sustainable Water and Energy Solutions business line in the Eastern U.S.   He has 20 years’ experience in municipal wastewater treatment R&D, design, and project and business development in a variety of technical areas, including biological nutrient removal and wet weather treatment, and specializes in high-rate technologies and processes.  Steve’s expertise includes green engineering, sustainability assessments, resource recovery, greenhouse gas emissions management, and energy management for water and wastewater utilities. 


Steve is leading development of the greenhouse gas emissions inventory and Triple Bottom Line assessment for Philadelphia Water Department’s Utility-Wide Strategic Energy Plan and is a key member of the team tasked with identifying and evaluating energy conservation measures at PWD’s three wastewater pollution control facilities.


Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and a MBA from the College of William and Mary.
